︎︎︎ Studio Marina Veziko created the visual identity and movie titles for Kelet, a documentary following the life of a young Somali trans woman navigating identity, community, and belonging in Finland.
After coming out, Kelet was cut off from her family in Manchester and returned to Finland, where, supported by friends in the Vogue and ballroom community, she began pursuing her dream of becoming a model. The visual identity draws inspiration from ballroom culture, referencing its expressive visual language while maintaining a sense of softness and elegance that reflects Kelet’s personality.
Colour, typography, and motion were used to create a playful yet composed visual world, balancing strength with humour and intimacy. The title design extends this tone into the film itself, supporting the emotional rhythm of the narrative.
Premiering at Docpoint Film Festival 2020, Kelet became the most-watched film of the festival and received the Audience Award.
